You might be wondering, "Hey, why is this such a big deal?". Well, once upon a time ago in 2001, there was a little game console called the Xbox that wasn't getting and publicity at all. None. Zip. Zilch. Nadda. It was a huge flop in the industry. But, Microsoft came out with their first big hit upon the Xbox, Halo. Halo made the Xbox HUGE. It was the single game that made the Xbox stay afloat for 3 years until a new game came out. What was that game you may wonder, HALO 2!!! This was huge for the gaming community. There was an actual reason to go online for XBL since all the other games on Xbox sucked ASS, and it cost 50 bucks to even sign up for XBL.
Well, the Xbox 360 comes around eventually, and same story, no games are coming for it, seeing as how Halo 3 wouldn't be released for 2 more years. So, they get a game to take the heat off their next blockbuster, and that game was Gears of War. It was the only good thing for a little while until more games got afoot to the Xbox 360, until, wadda' ya' know, Halo 3 arrives! It was epic. It was the whole reason I bought my Xbox with my friend. I spent 6 months of my life working towards that game. It is my most favorite gaming franchise EVER. So, with Halo Wars coming out being a strategy game of Halo, with skeptics abound, and the ever so secretive Halo Chronicles around, Halo fans have nothing to look forward to hugely. Microsoft knew this clearly, and they would have won E3 over times 10. Do they care? Nooooooooo. They think now that that have a good old foothold in the market, they don't need Bungie. So, they disregard the work Bungie had put in for the last months and gave more Gears of War 2 demo.
AND NOW I HAVE TO WAIT ANOTHER YEAR TO FIND OUT WHAT BUNGIE IS WORKING ON!!!
I just wanted a piece of good news about my life changing favorite series before I go to boarding school; and since the only known things about Halo is the new book coming out in the fall, a STRATEGY game that's not even coming out on PC (we'll see how that goes...), and a friggen game about Halo THAT NO ONE KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT.
In the shortest term possible, Microsoft just bitch slapped Bungie. They think that just because they own all the rights to Halo for the Xbox, that Bungie is their bitch and they don't have to listen to them. Bungie is pissed right now, I can tell, usually they are good to their fans and give them little hints as to what is coming out for them. Even when games by Bungie get delayed, we still get a caring hand from them. They are just great people. But, I can tell they are pissed. The President of Bungie is telling his fans off because they think this is all a gimmick. This is like Miley Cyrus throwing knives into her fans' eyes because her Dad cancelled her tour to do his own. Ok, not the best analogy, I know, but listen: Microsoft is slapping the people that made them a huge thing again because they think they don't need them anymore. Now Bungie is in a VERY rare bad mood. See what I meant with Miley Cyrus, even though her dad didn't do that. Hypothetically, it would be the same if her dad cancelled the tour she had been working hard for, because her new popularity made her Dad talked about again.
Ok, I'm just pissed.
It's 5 in the morning, and my new lower braces make it impossible to eat for now, and my favorite game series is being secretive again, and they wouldn't have to if MICROSOFT DIDN'T HAVE TO BE SUCH A PRICK!!!
